The dark, cold winter nights can be a difficult time of year for many; however, it is especially hard for those remembering loved ones who have sadly passed away. That is why Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is providing a new way to remember those special people who have left this earth, but not our hearts.

The charity has launched a new in memory website, where supporters can pay tribute and celebrate the lives of loved ones. The charity is asking people to ‘Remember Your Star’ by making a small donationy, which will virtually light up the sky, and feature a remembrance message for loved ones who have passed.

The online memorial shows a scenic landscape of the local lifesaving aircraft in a dark night sky. By dedicating a bright star in memory of a loved one, this will help light the flightpath for the crew to carry out their missions, as well as bring some much needed peace at what is a difficult time, especially for those that are seeking ways to remember loved ones.

Emma Gray, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity said: “The end of the year always provides a poignant period for reflection, and this year is no exception, as it has been extra challenging for everyone. The team at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity recognises that this is a time of year which is significant for someone who has lost a loved one and that thoughts often turn to those we miss.”

“We have launched this new initiative with the hope that by knowing a donation to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity will be used to help someone else’s loved one in an emergency or time of critical need, will also bring peace.”
