December is well and truly here and what better way to countdown to the big day than sampling some of the best Christmassy bars and restaurants Birmingham has to offer?

Frankfurt Christmas Market

It wouldn’t be Christmas in Birmingham without the Frankfurt Market, would it? Head up to Victoria Square with a beer and Bratwurst in hand to hear Santa singing Christmas tunes and sing along with your friends. If beer isn’t your thing then why not opt for a hot chocolate with a shot of Bailey’s instead. With seated areas around the bars the Christmas market is perfect for both a festive dance and sing-along, or simply a chilled catch-up.

The Snow House Bar

The Snow House Bar is back again this year just outside the Bullring, offering a range of cocktails and winter warmers such as hot toffee apple cider to be enjoyed by the festive chalet bar under cosy Scandi blankets and cushions. Why not hire an igloo to feel like you’re having your own private Christmas party?

Once Upon a Time

Get your phones at the ready for the ultimate Instagram snap in this festive pop-up bar at the Bullring. You can sip on drinks that glow, sparkle and change colour whilst being surrounded by 88,000 twinkling fairy lights. If that’s not enough, there’s also a Festive Tea Service with a spectacle of desserts including a Light Refracting Christmas Pudding.

Gas Street Social

What’s more festive than being able to enjoy your Christmas drinks and meal in an igloo? Sitting under warm blankets, silver birch trees and sparkling lights, you can warm up with a mulled sloe gin or hot buttered rum before tucking into a delicious meal of turkey with all the trimmings. You and your friends won’t want to leave this heated, beautifully furnished little party space.

Pint Shop

Is craft beer and plenty of gin your thing? Then Pint Shop is the place for you. Fairy lights around the beer boards highlight all the drinks on offer, while feature fireplaces and a variety of comfortable seating areas will make you feel right at home with all the Christmassy feels. Pair your Pint Shop Snowball with a Festive Nut Roast, Braised Tomato Sauce and Vegan ‘Pigs’.

The Plough

The Plough is the perfect place to enjoy winter warmers of mulled wine, spiced cider with marmalade and bourbon, or hot gin toddies. Choose from delicious and generous portions, including Slow Cooked Beef Cheek or Wild Mushroom Linguine. Plus, to cut down on plastic waste, The Plough is giving the money they would have ordinarily spent on Christmas crackers to “Crisis” Homeless Christmas appeal. So you’ll be able to enjoy your delicious meal with festive feel-good vibes.
