Birmingham’s curry scene was on full display on 12th February as the Curry King of Birmingham 2026 served up more than just fiery flavours, it delivered £20,000 in support of the city’s Hidden Gem Projects, funding vital grassroots initiatives that often go unnoticed.

The Curry King champions celebrate their win with Chaat Chapatti, the dish that secured the crown.

Held at the Eastside Rooms, the annual event brought together the best of Birmingham: passionate supporters, local businesses, and food lovers eager to celebrate the city’s world-famous curry culture, all for a good cause. Guests enjoyed exceptional dishes, entertainment, and a spirited competition to crown this year’s Curry King.

Adam Heard, Charity Manager at LoveBrum said “The Curry King of Birmingham continues to showcase the very best of our city: incredible food, generous businesses, and a community that truly cares. Raising £20,000 for our Hidden Heroes is a testament to what we can achieve when we all come together. These funds will directly support smaller charities delivering vital services to those who need them most.”

Supporting vital community causes, cheques presented to Alive Wellness Centre and Better Pathways.

The winning Curry creation was selected by a panel of local hospitality heroes headed up by Anita Champaneri, Managing Director of Delicious PR. The winning Curry was called Chaat Chapatti and working in partnership with local homeless charities will be used to feed 1500 Brummies experiencing homelessness or living in temporary accommodation.

The funds raised are already making an impact. On the night, Alive Wellness Centre, which tackles knife crime and youth violence, and Better Pathways, supporting people with mental health challenges back into work, received cheques to continue their vital work. The success of Curry King 2026 wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and participating businesses.

Special thanks went to Headline Sponsor Ridge & Partners, judges, and everyone who contributed their time and energy to make the night a triumph. LoveBrum continues to champion Birmingham’s grassroots heroes, shining a spotlight on the incredible work happening across the city.
