Passengers departing from Birmingham Airport can now experience a taste of the iconic Peaky Blinders firsthand with the opening of the exclusive Shelby & Co. Bar and Restaurant.

This is the first Peaky Blinders-themed bar to be unveiled in a travel location, making it a standout addition to Birmingham Airports departure lounge. With seating for 290 guests, the venue is set to be a central hub for both fans of the show and travellers looking for a unique dining experience before their flights.

Upon stepping into Shelby & Co., guests are transported straight into the gritty glamour of the 1920s, complete with dark wood, atmospheric lighting, and vintage-inspired décor. There’s also themed memorabilia on display, from iconic props to framed photos that capture some of the show’s most memorable moments. The space is perfect for Instagram selfies, with rolling scenes from the show setting the stage for your own snapshot in Shelby style. For those looking to fully immerse themselves in the Peaky experience, you can even purchase memorabilia, including flat caps, mugs, and more to take home. You’ll soon be wondering how many flat caps you’ll spot on the next flight to Ibiza!

The restaurant offers a blend of traditional waiter service and modern, fast-paced order-at-table technology, always catering to those who need to dine quickly.

The menu, as you might expect, is a tribute to the show’s roots, with a distinct emphasis on local flavours. From local brews to Birmingham’s finest gins, the drinks selection highlights the city’s proud heritage.

Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast, a leisurely brunch, or a refreshing beer, there’s something for everyone. Start your day with Billy’s Breakfast Bap or a classic Blinder Benedict, then enjoy all-day favourites like Finn’s Fish & Chips, The Tommy Burger, or the indulgent Piggy Blinder toad in the hole wrap. For those looking to sip something special, the bespoke cocktails include gin-based concoctions like The Garrison and the Birmingham Sour.

We’ve been focused on expanding our unique airport bar and restaurant concepts over the last 12 months,” said Cathy Granby, Business Development Director for SSP UK & Ireland, which already operates five outlets at Birmingham Airport. “Shelby & Co. is the perfect way to bring the Peaky Blinders experience to life in an airport setting. It’s a true reflection of all that Birmingham has to offer, and it’s exciting to offer this immersive experience to both fans and travellers alike.”

The partnership between SSP and Banijay Rights—the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment—was key to bringing the Peaky Blinders brand to life in this new setting. David Christopher, Director of Licensing and Merchandising at Banijay Rights, commented: “It’s a huge privilege to expand the beloved Peaky Blinders world into Birmingham Airport, our first official travel venue licensee. This collaboration allows fans to dive deep into the Peaky experience as they pass through one of the UK’s busiest travel hubs.”

Birmingham Airport’s Commercial Director, Richard Gill, also expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled to welcome Shelby & Co. as the first airport to offer this incredible, bespoke bar and restaurant. It’s an innovative addition to our departure lounge, giving passengers a unique chance to experience a slice of the Shelby world while travelling through Birmingham Airport.”

Peaky Blinders, the multi-award-winning series created by Steven Knight, has captivated audiences worldwide. Distributed by Banijay Rights, the show has been sold to over 183 countries and is available internationally on Netflix, including in the USA.
